Nathaniel's Story

Hi, My name is Nathaniel Hinton. I'm the farmer/cow-chaser/compost-digger/veggie-weeder at Hinton Family Farms in Dacula, Ga

Growing up, my family always grew a garden and kept livestock as a way to provide ourselves with food we knew had been raised right. I fell in love with every aspect of it all and knew from a young age that farming would always be a part of my life. Years later, I began reading books by farmer and author Joel Salatin and realized my love for farming was, in fact, a calling to grow food for others. Hinton Family Farms is my answer to that calling. 

After several years of market-gardening and a season of interning with the folks at Polyface Farms in Virginia, I am back in Georgia. My vision for the farm is still evolving, but at its core is a desire to steward God's creation and feed my community.
